We started a sightseeing program together with Gőblyös István with an aim to interpret the especially interesting equestrian sculptures of the Hungarian capital.

The first station of our program series: the Kossuth square.
In front of the Parlament there are two important horse sculptures: statues of Prince Rákóczi and count Andrássy Gyula. We had a discussion about these on the 13th of May 2023. We analized the artworks from both equstrian and artistic point of views.
The discussion was lead by Dr. Gőblyös István, the founder of the National Riding Academy and Dr. Szmrecsányi-Veszely Beáta, artist, who is researching equine images of art history.
Invited lecturer was Engler András, artist, one of the sculptores of the count Andrássy equestrian portrait, the copy of the original, which was destroyed during communism.

The second station of our program series: the Royal Castle in Buda.
